About Headache Diary

Last updated: 28 October 2026

Headache Diary publishes a printable diary, calculators and explanations for people who track migraine. The site is written by Pavel Iatskevich, the developer of Aurora — Migraine Diary for iPhone.

Relationship to Aurora

This site and the Aurora app have the same author. Pages link to the app where it does what the page describes. The calculators on this site use the same rules as the app, so a number here and in the app mean the same thing. The site does not accept advertising or sponsored content and does not recommend specific medicine brands.

Sources

Pages rely on, in this order:

  1. The International Classification of Headache Disorders, 3rd edition (ICHD-3), for definitions and criteria.
  2. Guidelines of headache societies and national health bodies.
  3. Peer-reviewed studies, with year, design and sample size when a page reports a number.

Every page lists its sources and the date it was last checked against them. Where studies disagree, the page says so instead of choosing a side.

Medical review

Pages reviewed by a physician show the reviewer's name and the review date under the sources. A page without a reviewer name has been checked against its sources by the author only.

Corrections

If you find an error, write to [email protected] with the page address. When a fact is corrected, the date under the sources is updated.
